Where are you from? I AM FROM BROOKLYN, NEW YORK CITY BORN AND RAISED IN MARCY PROJECTS
How long have you been doing what you’re doing and how did you get started in the first place? I BEEN DOING MUSIC FOR 19 YEARS NOW. I GOT INSPIRED BY JAY Z AND I KNEW IF HE CAN DO IT SO CAN I.
Who were the first influences on your music and style? LAURYN HILL , MC LYTE, QUEEN LATIFAH AND REMY MA
In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why? I FEEL DA BABY IS BECAUSE OF HIM JUST BEING SOMETHING DIFFERENT RIGHT NOW FOR THE INDUSTRY. HE GIVING DIFFERENT SOUNDS AND FLOWS PLUS STAYING CONSISTENT. BUT ORIGINALLY I WOULD SAY POP SMOKE BUT HIS LIFE AND CAREER WAS CUT SHORT RIP TO THE WOO
What aspect of the music making process excites you most, and what aspect discourages you the most? Well recording and doing videos process excites me the most because I get to hear my work and reenact the lyrics for the video and use creativity. What discourages me the most is nothing that percentage of not making it cause I know it’s others who is just as talented as I am or who is working harder then me. I just trust the process now.
In your experience thus far, what is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed? And one you didn’t follow, but now know for sure that you should have? The best advice I got was be yourself don’t lose yourself in the process. And always remember “mo money mo problems”. The worst advice that I got was no advice and trying to figure out the business part of music and now I know it best to make sure you got your papers and business right before releasing any music
Which ingredient do you think is most essential in making your sound and style the way it is? The main ingredient for me is confidence, being confident and believing in your craft and when I sound confident my style come off original and strong
What single are you currently pushing and what will you be dropping next? I am pushing my new single “Win or Lose” and I am dropping my mixtape “She Coming” next
What can fans expect from you in the future and where can they stay up to date on your movement? They will be expecting more of me and getting to know Brooklyn perry but not just as a artist and Entrepreneur.
