A Candid Convo With K.T.E. About Current Projects And More

Where are you from?

Anderson, SC (By way of Honea Path, SC)

How long have you been doing what you’re doing and how did you get started in the first place?

Since 10th grade… My English Teacher encouraged me into converting my poems into lyrical verses.

Who were the first influences on your music and style?

I come from a musical background… My mom and her sisters were singers, along with other relatives.

In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?

It’s a toss-up! Chris Breezy, because we both have similar styles (Minus the tatts, lol. No offense anyone) … We both Sing, Rap, and Dance. I too have a Fun-Goofy side, being a Big K.I.D. at heart, lol. I also enjoy some forms of Art; like paintings, Sculptures, etc.

What aspect of the music making process excites you most, and what aspect discourages you the most?

What excites me is working with the creation process (from picking/producing a track to writing the last bar of a song) … as long as the Vibe and Energy is positive!

At times, not receiving acknowledgement for my efforts could be considered discouraging.

In your experience thus far, what is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed? And one you didn’t follow, but now know for sure that you should have?

Learn the Music Business, but sometimes you have sat back and let your hair grow (Patience is a virtue).

Stick with your support group while supporting those whom support you. In order to help others, you must first become established on any given playing field.

Which ingredient do you think is most essential in making your sound and style the way it is?

Creative Freedom helps … it’s part of creating a successful brand.

What single are you currently pushing and what will you be dropping next?

The current single is T.H.U.G. LOVE, and next in line is the EP for Shorty So Sexy, on all music platforms.

What can fans expect from you in the future and where can they stay up to date on your movement?

KTE now has merchandise for both males and females coming out in 2020, started with the shoe, KTE 3(Inspire by K-TRIK-E).

We’re also working on a movie entitled “Bad Affiliation” written by Vincent Webb.

Along with releasing more music, I will be looking at getting back into hosting radio.
