Getting To Know Rapper Skinny Hardaway

Q:   First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?

I actually only started making music 2016 around June. THIS IS THE START basically I was new to the entire process of music that’s too the writing and recording; but don’t let that fool you I grew up around music always had a love for it and well educated on the subject I dropped my 1st mixtape February of 2017 titled “Draft Day on Spinrilla, shortly after in December 2017 I dropped my 2nd tape also on Spinrilla called “Never Again” also released “Draft Day 2” June of 2018 and got a project I plan on dropping sometime November Im not playing around. I want everybody to know I’m new but I mean business

Q:  What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?

Best advice I could ever give any artist especially in the beginning is learn to block our negativity, take constructive criticism but block out any Negative energy, don’t expect people to support you in your journey just because they are your friend or they been knowing rather you been showing love to them or not some people don’t wanna see you do better and most importantly don’t quit above all

Q:When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?

Making new records is where I have the most fun as a artist right now, it’s something about getting that blank canvas and painting what ever picture your feeling it’s a proud kids 1st day of school type feeling lol  when you finish writing or laying a record you know gone smash. That’s a good feeling mane

Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?

Well honestly some come quick and others take time it’s more of a feel thing and also how you approach it some songs I just let my feel take over and go with the flow others I go in with a pint to make and I may wanna make sure I get it across. It’s really a song to song feel thing with me it could take 5 minutes or 5 days you know

Q: What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

I got 2 1: Put out into the world the things you wanna receive, another way of putting it would be what goes around comes around, you get what you give ya know? And 2: I live by these words Adopted by an Memphis rapper who was murdered in 2012 “Mack Kane”  “BE BENEFICIAL NEVER ARTIFICIAL” and that just mean, Be somebody people can count on and never be fake, like it’s a saying “if you ain’t useful you useless” same thing. If it ain’t BENEFICIAL it’s ARTIFICIAL

Q: What is you favorite song to belt out at the bar/in the car right now?

Favorite song right now? I don’t really listen to many rappers since I been making the music myself but I gotta keep it real I find myself bumping anything produced by “TayKeith” his beats be slapping anything anybody do on his beats have me rocking he ain’t s artist but the common factor in my favorites songs are his beats it gotta be something to that.

Q :What are your future goals as a music artist?

Goals for the future imma keep it 100 short and sweet, a lot of people say I do this for fun, don’t get me wrong it’s fun but I wanna be the best, I wanna make a living outta this all I can ask is I keep improving and making progress as long as I’m climbing and improving that’s all any artist could want

Q: What was your most memorable performance to date?

Ok so I got booked for this party it was a few other artists performing too Swagg Jazz is a known female rapper from Memphis she was head lining I was the opener so I come in the crowd had looked out of it like they had been waiting I walk in viutrally an unkwon to perform so I give the Dj my set he start the music the beat dropped I swear I spit 12 words and the crowd went crazy they loved it surprised me and I think I surprised them that was me notable for me because it was my 1st show
